" It all begins with the boring and the mundane that surrounds our everyday experience. Through an empirical and subjective experience of the artist, the parameters of what we perceive as real can be challenged when translated into a painting. The images represent psychologically charged spaces or objects where the feelings of the artist are struggling to survive. My art is concerned with that very power of subjectivity and its influence on the spaces, objects or environments that we or others inhabit in these paintings. This observation leads to the peculiar and uneasy manifestations of the familiar to become an estranged and ominous presence that overflows into the everyday."
