" There are numerous references to scarabs from ancient times until today. In Greece, Aristophanes used it to rescue "Irene-Peace", Aesop wrote a myth about an eagle and a beetle while in ancient Egypt the scarab was symbolizing the power of the sun and the afterlife rebirth. Then, the scarabs appear in modern literature as in Metamorphosis of Kafka, and later on in the music scene with the notorious band Beatles.
My scarabs have different patterns, geometric shapes and symbols, with surrealism being the dominant element . Through my scarab works one can see a unique story, a calendar of my own thought. Along with them I release myself from the burden of sentiments, worries and memories. Each of these stimuli determines the strength of the images that are born through my work."
